Heads Up: Hold'em version 3 is out

This post will be pretty short and sweet. Heads Up: Hold'em version 3 is available now. I am incredibly proud of this game and I can't wait for people to see how much fun it is to play the wireless 2-player game!

Go get it!

Hi Peter,

I have just downloaded it. I love it very much, thanks for making it more fun. I have a suggestion to make this application better.

It is that may be we should be allowed to show only ONE card to our opponent (human player and/or AI, especially human player in the two player mode).

Because sometimes it is also a good strategy to show one of the two hole cards rather than giving all away, it is like giving only partial information out, not completely.

Glad you are enjoying it! I'll take it as a big compliment that the request is as subtle and specific as showing 1 card to the opponent...

I'll check on it (no promises yet) it could be tricky to implement and may involve double-tapping or using 2 fingers to hold one card in place while showing the other...

(Fold-and-show was another, similar, idea that didn't quite make it in...)

The next update will be an iPad version. (And the super-secret project that I can't talk about yet!)

Hi Peter, thanks for willing to implement this feature. I was thinking may be if when we double tab on the hole card, a window will pop up and we can select which to show or fold then click either fold to confirm folding or cancel to go back to the game.

Or when we drag our hole cards to the centre, a window will pop up to ask if we want to fold the cards the way it is or show one or two of the cards.

This means that when the fold window pop up, the two cards are faced down initially. Then tapping a card will make it face up and that is the card that will be shown...

Hope this is a good suggestion. Thanks again for opening for suggestions...

Pete, I love the updated version. Very nice changes. Tell Mike you two did a great job.

Any change there will be an online component in future versions?

Online games are possible, and they have been on the 'wish list' ever since we started wishing. The catch is that it would take a lot of development time and/or a lot of development money.

While the game would look and play about the same, everything underneath would change because it would be a server running things for both players. And everything would need to be much more secure than it currently is to prevent cheating.

(NOTE: This would be play-money. Any real-money online gambling is unavailable because, well, it's illegal.)
